Situated on the foothills of the Tendong hills on the left bank of the river Teesta lies Shri Krishna Pranami Mandir Mangaldham. Located in Bermiok Namphing, South Sikkim en route to Namchi, the most admired tourist destination in the south of Sikkim. The temple serves as a spiritual and a pilgrimage destination particularly to the followers of Shri Krishna Pranami faith.

The replica of the Govardhan hill or the Giri Raj is located in the walk away of the main entrance gate. It has been acknowledged in the holy Bhagavad Gita that according to lord Krishna, Govardhan Parvat is no different from him. The temple welcomes the devotees with a satsang hall on the first floor. The satsang hall offers beautiful and eye catching portraits of lord Krishna’s leela. In other words the portraits depict the birth of Krishna, Vasudev’s journey to Gokul, Krishna’s upbringing in Gokul and the most irrepressible childhood of lord Krishna and his pranks.

The floor just above the satsang hall offers again good-looking and striking portraits drawn from the Bitak Katha. The portraits depict the birth of Shri Devchandra Maharaj on 11th of October 1581 (vikram sambat 1638) in Umarkot, Sindh (at the moment in Pakistan). At the age of 17 years he left home and reached Bhojnagar in Gujarat, where he came in contact with many saints. After enduring a painstaking self- discipline, Devchandra Maharaj got a glimpse of Lord Krishna. Upon his meeting with the lord, the lord questioned his own existence. Lord gave him the “Tartam Mantra” which dispersed all his suspicions. The portraits also depict Brij and Ras lila, meeting of Devchandra Maharaj with Mahamati Prannath Ji and Prannath Ji and his followers put into jail for preaching and awakening the divine souls. The last two portraits depict the influence of Pranami faith in Har Ji Vyas ji Maharaj, a learned scholar of Bhagavad and a sword as a gift was gifted by Prannath Ji to Chatrasal Maharaj to protect hindu religion during Auranzeb’s era.

The temple has an extraordinary exterior look with five large golden painted parasols or sunshade structures entrenched with carvings and designs. The temple is painted white in color with golden and orange touch up is striking. The two standing posture of lord Krishna playing the flute instrument in the entrance of the temple after the Goverdam hill is eye catching and imposing.
